Ben Hinchliffe – Goalkeeper

Hinchliffe signed for AFC Fylde in May 2012 joining the club from Northwich Victoria.  Hincliffe comes highly rated and was voted as the Evo-Stik Premier Division's best keeper in the 2011-2012 season making Team of the Year.  Ben started his career with Preston North End as a youngster and followed Billy Davies to fellow Championship side Derby County.  He then enjoyed spells at Oxford Utd and Worcester City (loan) and Kendal Town (loan) before returning to his hometown of Preston and playing for Bamber Bridge.  His impressive displays for Brig attracted interest from a number of clubs and he joined Andy Preece at Northwich for a season before joining The Coasters. Was named in Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division Team of the Season for the second successive year and scored a 60 yard wonder-goal in the Play-off Semi Final for Fylde at the end of last season. Missed only two games all season for The Coasters and was awarded the Manager’s Player of the Season Award and Supporters’ Club Goal of the Season Award.
2012/13 Stats: 56 appearences; 1 goal

Dave Stevenson – Goalkeeper
Experienced goalkeeper who comes back to the club after three seasons away as cover for Ben Hinchliffe in the final few weeks of the 2013/14 season.  Played in goal for Fylde when they won their first Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy in March 2011 with the 1-0 victory over Bamber Bridge at the Reebok Stadium.

Luke Denson – Defender
Denson joined The Coasters halfway through the 2012/13 season but after picking up an injury in training after playing just one game, he missed the majority of the rest of the season. Still only a young lad, the former Tranmere, Chester City, and Colwyn Bay full back had a successful trial with League Two Morecambe over the summer but he has come back to Fylde to gain some First Team football and vital experience.
2012/13 Stats: 7 appearances; 0 goals

Tom Eckersley – Defender
Joined Fylde in mid-November as cover for the ever-growing injury list and made a number of appearances before picking up a serious knee injury himself which will keep him out for at least 12 months.  Experienced young player nonetheless and still around and about the First Team during his recuperation.

Jake Gregory – Defender
A 17-year-old defender who will mainly be part of the Youth and Development Squad set-ups this season for The Coasters but his performances in pre-season over the summer have impressed the management team enough for him to be awarded registration for the First Team as well and will provide ideal back up in the full back positions.

Dave Hankin – Defender
Hankin became Challinor’s second signing of the summer, joining the club in June 2013 from Chester FC after helping them to a third successive league title. He started off with Clitheroe before stepping up to the Conference Premier with Stalybridge Celtic and Kidderminster Harriers before joining Chester on a two year deal last season. Due to work commitments he decided to move on and has already made his mark with some fine performances in pre-season and has shown his versatility playing either as a full back or on the wing.

Matt Hughes – Defender
The Highly rated defender joined the club on a free transfer from Fleetwood Town in 2012. He started his career at Rochdale as a youngster before Celtic took him to Parkhead – an indication of his talent.  After spending two years in Celtic’s youth team and captaining the Reserve side he moved to Fleetwood before spending virtually the entire season on loan at Colwyn Bay in the Blue Square North.  Challinor did well to land him after he was looking to go full time but a move to Fylde gave him the chance to aid his new club to challenge for promotion and was voted as Young Player of the Season last year.
2012/13 Stats: 52 appearances; 1 goal

Andy Russell – Defender
The towering centre back, who is a former England Colleges international and has played professionally in Hong Kong throughout his career so far, signed for AFC Fylde in June 2013 from Chorley. Challinor was delight about bringing the former Mossley and Chorley defender to Kellamergh Park noting he was exactly what Fylde have been looking for – a defender who is very good aerially and comfortable in possession. He has played well in pre-season for The Coasters and looks to have already formed a good centre back partnership with Matty Hughes.

Adam Sumner – Defender
Left back Sumner joined the clubfrom Evo-Stik Premier Division side Northwich Victoria.  Sumner started his career with neighbours Fleetwood Town and was given a full time contract at the club with Micky Mellon rating the young defender highly.  Sumner then enjoyed loan spells with AFC Blackpool, Kendal Town and Northwich Victoria to aid his development.  He promptly signed for the Vics in the summer of 2011 but found himself out of Andy Preece's side and Dave Challinor made him his first signing for the club in November 2011.  A cultured defender with a great left foot Sumner impressed Challinor and was a key player in their Championship winning side and was virtually an ever present last season as well.

Bradley Barnes – Midfielder
The highly rated Chester midfielder joined the club in November 2011.  He was expected to sign for Colwyn Bay in the Blue Square North but with Management duo Dave Challinor and Colin Woodthorpe moving to The Coasters he was keen to re-unite with them again.  Challinor was delighted to land the midfielder who proved a fantastic signing being an inspirational figure with a will to win in the middle of the park. Last season he was handed the captain’s armband and stepped up to the plate on a number of occasions to give the side that much needed boost when things aren’t going their way on the pitch. Sees himself as one of the jokers of the dressing room and likes to keep the banter going at all times.
2012/13 Stats: 39 appearances; 3 goals
Michael Barnes – Midfielder
The former Manchester United youngster joined AFC Fylde in August 2009.  He was released by the Reds at the end of the 2007/08 Season and after spells with Shrewsbury, Northwich Victoria and Southport he signed for FC Halifax Town.  The pacy winger can also play in a central role when called upon but his displays from the wing have shown his creative ability by setting up a number of goals as well as scoring key goals for Fylde last time out and must be one of the fastest players in this league.  A real fans favourite at Kellamergh Park, Barnes has made over 150 appearances for The Coasters and has been handed the Players Player of the Year and Supporters’ Club Player of the Year awards for the last two season’s running and was successively named in both the Evo-Stik Division One North and Premier Division teams of the seasons which says it all. Barnes finished as AFC Fylde’s second highest top goal scorer behind the departed Adam Farrell by just one goal last season.
2012/13 Stats: 50 appearances; 21 goals

Joe Booth – Midfielder
Booth joined the club in July 2008 after a successful time at Unibond Premier Division side Rossendale United playing over 100 games.  A tenacious and skilful footballer with a great touch and an eye for goal from free kicks, Booth took time to adjust to a new role in O'Hanlon's system in previous seasons but was back to his best scoring some great free kicks against Wakefield, Skelmersdale and in the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy Final against Bamber Bridge which won him Goal of the Season Award for the 2011-2012 campaign.  Still a vital member of the squad under the management of Challinor and Woodthorpe, which has made Joe AFC Fylde's longest serving player making almost 250 appearances since coming on as a substitute in the very first game as AFC Fylde in August 2008. He has also chipped in with at least 10 goals in each of the season’s he’s been with the club and sees himself as the squad’s set-piece specialist stepping up to take both penalties and free-kicks.
2012/13 Stats: 49 appearances; 11 goals

Sean Cooke – Midfielder
Back for his second spell with The Coasters after he joined Srill North's AFC Telford United in the summer following the Play-off Semi Final defeat to Hednesford Town.  But after going there with an injury picked up from that Semi Final, he struggled to hold down a regular place and rejoined Fylde in the middle of their awful run of defeats throughout December but has since helped steady the ship and is back to being a regular in the starting XI as he was 12 months ago.

Caspar Hughes – Midfielder
The former Crewe Alexandra Academy player became Challinor’s first signing of the summer in May 2013 bringing him to Kellamergh Park from Nantwich Town as a replacement for the departed Sean Cooke. Hasn’t scored in pre-season but the midfielder has produced some fine performances which has proved why Challinor has brought the 20-year-old to KP and will no doubt become one of the first names on the Fylde team sheet throughout this season.

Joey Mullen - Midfielder
Rose up from the ranks of Academy Squad member to Development Squad player and now fully integrated into the First Team.  Made a name for himself with a blistering performance for the Youth Squad in their FA Youth Cup victory over Skelmersdale United at Kellamergh Park in mid-September and has since made a number of appearances in the First Team and became the club's youngest ever goalscorer when he netted against Burscough in the Doodson Sport Cup in December 2013.
Harry Winter – Midfielder
Harry joined the club in February 2012 to bolster the Coasters’ midfield for the promotion run-in.  He began his career with Trafford before securing a move up two divisions to Northwich Victoria in 2009 where he was a huge success.  In the summer of 2010 he joined Blue Square North new boys FC Halifax Town but during his first season with the Shaymen he sustained a knee injury and he missed several months of the campaign before moving to Hyde United in December 2011. He has also played at Matlock Town in the Evo-Stik Premier Division to build up his match fitness before Challinor made his move for the highly rated midfielder.
2012/13 Stats: 44 appearances; 7 goals

Matty Blinkhorn – Striker
Blinks came to AFC Fylde on loan from Hyde towards the end of last season with the aim of guiding The Coasters to promotion via the Play-offs. He scored twice in just three appearances but couldn’t guide Fylde to the Skrill North but saw enough in his short time with the club at the end of last season to commit his near future to the cause by signing a deal which saw him become Fylde’s fourth permanent addition over the summer.
2012/13 Stats: 3 appearances; 2 goals
Ryan Charnley – Striker
This tall, 16-year-old striker came to the club via the new Academy set-up and after scoring three fantastic goals in pre-season he gave Challinor no option than to register him with the First Team for the coming season as well. Will provide a good, youthful option up front and will no doubt feature at some point throughout the season.
Danny Lloyd – Striker
A striker who has gained bags of experience in the higher echelons of non-league over the past couple of seasons, Lloyd joined The Coasters in June 2013 from Skrill Premier Tamworth. He was a fans favourite and both Tamworth and previous club Lincoln City and the fact the fans petitioned their board not to let him go shows just how talented this forward is. Has admittedly stepped down a couple of leagues as he feels AFC Fylde will bring the best out of him and is hugely impressed with the professionalism the club has shown in the short time he has been here. He scored five goals in pre-season, including a hat-trick against Skrill North Vauxhall Motors and is a pacey, skilful wide player who isn’t afraid to take defenders on.

Karl Noone – Striker
Experienced frontman who joined at the end of March 2014 from Marine as an additional option up front for Challinor in the push for promotion.
